Legal Aspects of Design for Safety in Buildings & Structures (Rerun5) |
WSH
(Design for Safety) Regulations (DfS) which comes
into effect on 1 August 2016 covers projects undertaken by a developer in the
course of business that involves development with construction work with
contract value $10M and above. Owners,
Developers, Engineers, Designers & Contractors (parties involved in such
building, structure & construction projects) will have to comply with
these safety rules since under DfS, they will have
to incorporate safety features into design plans to protect workers who build
and maintain the projects. It is therefore crucial for PEs, Engineers, Developers, Owners of Projects, Technical Professionals & Contractors and other stakeholders to understand the framework and process in Design for Safety in Buildings & Structures and to familiarise with the guidelines to review the design for safety & health risks, their legal duties and possible liabilities, which this course will discuss. |
